Prof. Dr. Riste Škrekovski

In 2000, under the supervision of Prof. Bojan Mohar, I obtained my PhD at the University of Ljubljana and undertook postdoctoral studies at Charles University in Prague and Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada.
I am currently one of the leading researchers at the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto and lecturer in discrete mathematics at the University of Ljubljana. I have also recently joined the research team at the Rudolfovo - Science and Technology Centre Novo mesto.
My research focuses on classical graph theory, but I am also interested in applied and interdisciplinary areas such as chemical mathematics and complex networks. I have published more than 250 scientific papers in this field. I lead several bilateral projects and collaborate with and host international researchers.
During my career, I have successfully mentored seven PhD students and have served as a contributing editor for several scientific journals. I have initiated and chaired several small mathematical meetings in North Macedonia and Montenegro, with the aim of strengthening research activities in these regions.
