Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erika Džajić Uršič

I am Associate Prof. Dr. Erika Džajić Uršič, Research Fellow at the Centre for Circular Economy at Rudolfovo. My work involves research and implementation of industrial symbiosis and circular economy concepts. I focus on fostering collaboration between industrial stakeholders, contributing to resource sharing, waste exchange and the development of synergies that increase the efficiency and sustainability of industrial ecosystems.
My research analyses EU strategies for the transition to a circular economy and industrial symbiosis, and explores methodological approaches and analytical tools to better understand the impact of policies on industrial ecosystems. My work focuses on the development of practical solutions that promote sustainable development and on participation in international research projects that link the circular economy with innovative industrial practices. I am currently leading the ARRS basic research project J7-50186: Strengthening the development of industrial symbiotic networks in Slovenia - transition to the circular economy (1 October 2023 - 30 September 2026).
In addition to my research work, I am involved in knowledge dissemination and networking at both national and transnational level, actively collaborating with stakeholders at regional, national and European level.
