As part of the {Rudolfovo Open Days, we organised the first 3D and CT Scanning Day.
The first part of the event was dedicated to learning about different 3D scanning technologies, which capture surface data of objects in the real environment and convert them into point clouds, which are then processed using different computer tools for different purposes, such as
creating digital twins of objects,
making physical copies using 3D printing,
creating technical documentation through reverse engineering, and
performing quality control by performing dimensional comparison between a point cloud and a computer-based 3D model.
This technology thus allows
better quality control,
faster development processes,
personalised industrial products or services, and
preserved cultural heritage through the digitisation of museum exhibits.
In the second part, we focused on the presentation of the NIKON CT (Computed Tomography) scanner. {Rudolfovo and NIKON experts, Davy Willems and Nicolas Savaete, presented the machine and demonstrated its operation using concrete examples.
We invited representatives of companies involved in product development, industrialisation, production or quality control to get first-hand experience of the technologies.
We also successfully concluded a partnership with Revoz by handing over a contract. The cooperation agreement was signed by the Director of {Rudolfovo, Prof. Dr. Janez Povh, and by Mag. Tomaž Blatnik, Head of the Technical Department at Revoz, d.d.
This important cooperation will bring innovative solutions and benefits for both parties.
