Centre for Circular
Economy
We want to turn the statistics for the better!
The Centre focuses on addressing the challenges of the transition to a circular economy. The research work mainly focuses on approaches to achieving a circular economy, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources, life cycle assessment (LCA), policies in this area, and the development of methodological instruments for evaluating and monitoring the transition to a circular economy.
In the field of industrial symbiosis, the Centre fosters cooperation between industrial stakeholders. By promoting resource sharing, waste exchange and synergy creation, this network boosts the efficiency and sustainability of industrial ecosystems. In the field of energy efficiency and renewable energy, the Centre addresses the energy challenges of the green transition through research. This work is closely linked to understanding the environmental impacts of processes, which is why LCA analyses are carried out. The research work is also closely linked to legislation, directives and strategies for the transition to a circular economy. As part of its work, the Centre analyses the impact of policies and develops new methodological instruments.
